There's a First Time for Everything

Contest is now closed.

Thanks for stopping by!

Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival Button

Okay, well last time I spent altogether too much time entering giveaways and not hosting one of my own so this time, I'm in.

I'll post a picture tomorrow of The Prize but I will tell you now that it is a Wilton silicone 6-star pan. Which basically (oh why am I too lazy to get a picture up tonight?) means it's a pan that has six star-shaped receptacles for cake batter. Also, I'm throwing in a couple of decorating items as you will see in said forthcoming picture. Edit: The end of laziness! Here are the pictures! (Sorry the second one is blurry...I'm sure you get the idea.)

But wait! You know I have to make you work for it so in your comment (only one per person, please), tell me who you'd rather serve your star cupcakes to and why. Would it be:
a) The Pope?
b) Mr. Rogers?
or
c) Queen Elizabeth II?*

Contest will be closing at midnight (EST) on...let's see....Saturday. The winner will be chosen at random by our 10 month-old Little Goat and hopefully we will see who the winner is before she eats the paper with the name written on it. Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

Oh, and if you have say....three or four hours to kill entering giveaways/contests, click here for The List.

The Fine Print: This contest is open to anybody in Canada or the US. If you aren't a blogger, please leave a way to contact you if you're the winner. Oh, and if you don't answer the question, no entry for you - sorry!

*And yes, I know that Mr. Rogers isn't alive anymore...this is hypothetical, my friends....

I'd give it to Mr. Rogers. I love his show, and he seemed so kind and friendly and was a favorite memory of my childhood.

I'd serve to Mr. Rogers. He seems the least intimidating and since he's so kid friendly, I'm sure he wouldn't mind sharing with my son! :)

Mr. Rogers, seems the most likely, the Queen and Pope are too "at the top" for me. I'd like a down to earth "friend" to share them with.
Plus Mr. Rogers would never make a rude comment even if they tasted bad :) -- but hey, you didn't mean Wayne Rogers, right?

Jen said...

Aww, I'd like to have a good ol' chat with Mr. Rogers over some sweet little cupcakes. He seems like a cupcake man, huh? Red sweater, sneakers, freaky puppets, and cupcakes. How picturesque.

Oh gosh!!! Mr. Rogers of course. Who sweeter to spend an afternoon wtih sipping tea and noshing on some sweet goodies.

I can be reached at the URL attached to my name. THANKS!!!

Queen Lizzie, excuse me, Queen Elizabeth II. I'd just love to meet her and get a chance to check out Buckingham Palace! :)

I would choose the Pope. I think that he would be a very interesting person to talk to. I married into a very traditional Catholic family and I am not Catholic. I am serious when I say one of the first questions that one of the aunts asked me when we were dating was, "Are you Catholic?". So to share some cupcakes with the Pope would be such a treat and he could give me some beautiful advice and blessings. I would be "in" with the in laws too, that never hurts!

Heather said...

Mr. Rogers (although that's a little strange to say since the other two are still alive...). But he published some interesting thoughts on child development and it would be fun to talk to him in person.

Mr. Rogers, because he was a very kind man. :)

I have to say that I really wouldn't want to choose any of these. If I won I would use the opportunity to make cupcakes with my kids and then eat with them!!

The Pope. I am not Catholic but he seems like a pretty fascinating guy.

Dani said...

Mr. Rogers! I love his blue sweater and tennis shoes! That always tickled me for him to change clothes. I watched that show EVERYDAY!

Liz Zelie said...

Mr Rogers! Although one of my classes at college was full of people who didn't get along or see eye to eye, we all were sad the day Mr Rogers died.

michelle said...

I am going to be in the minority and say Queen Elizabeth II. I am a Canadian (but living in the US), and as such, we are raised with a respect for the Queen. She has actually visited a farm, not two miles from the farm where I grew up, and from what I have read of the event, she could be just as down to earth as the next guy (gal, whatever), in a relaxed atmosphere...well, as relaxed as the ruling British monarch can be, I guess. If the Queen eats star cupcakes, my first batch is hers!

I would love to be entered in your giveaway.

I would serve my cupcake to the queen. I would have to read an etiquette book first.

i think i'd serve my cupcakes to the queen. itd be awesome to hear all her storiews while we enjoyed the cupcakes.

I would enjoy having my snack with Mr. Rogers, but no way am I letting him serve me. "I'll be happy to serve you, Mr. Rogers. You just sit and impart some wisdom!"

Lalycairn said...

Wow, I guess I'm one of the majority, I'd bake them for Mr Rogers too. I'd love to hear his life story directly from him.

a/k/a Nadine said...

Mr. Rogers! Maybe he'd take me with him to the make-believe neighborhood.

Bonita said...

The Queen, of course. I love tea parties and what better guest than a real queen? We might even use real good manners that day!

Gina said...

I'd say the queen, I think she'd be very interesting to have a nice 'tea party' with, lots of interesting conversation.

Kristen M. said...

Her majesty, because I think she has a great sense of humor under her royal facade.

Jennessa said...

Eh, Mr. Rogers for sure! I would be too nervous to serve food to the queen!!!

Britni said...

I'd say Mr. Rogers because he just seems like a cupcake kind of guy. The other two seem more upscale than cupcakes.

Cricket said...

I would have to say Mr. Rogers. That way we could jump on the Trolley and head over to the Neighborhood of Make Believe. While there we could share our treats with King Friday, Queen Sara, Prince Tuesday, Henrietta Pussycat and X the Owl. As you can see I would need to make some extras but it would be worth it to visit with all of the fun characters I grew up with!

Claire Roach said...

I'd give them to the Pope. He's out to do good for the world and I bet we'd have great discussions while eating our cupcakes.

Sarah said...

I'd serve the cupcakes to Mr. Rogers. I'd be embarrassed to get crums in my lap around Queen Elizabeth, and I don't speak the same language as The Pope. Mr. Rogers would definitely be a fun person to share a cute cupcake with, and then my son could play with the train! Thanks for the giveaway!

Brooke Lorren said...

Mr. Rogers. The pope is just another guy to me, and last time the queen visited America, she got all offended when someone tried to shake her hand... no thanks. Mr. Rogers is friendly and won't care if my cupcake isn't perfect or if I don't fawn all over him like he's someone special.

Cactusflower said...

I would share the star cakes with Mr. Rogers -- he warmed and brightened my life for so many years, and my children loved him too. He embodies true compassion and genuine kindness.

Mr. Rodgers. He seems more the cupcake type plus he always seemed warm and personable.

It would be a toss between Mr. Rogers and the Queen. I admire Mr. Rogers. I loved his shows as a child. But the Queen is the Queen. Now it couldn't just be a serve them to her and move on, it would have to be for me to sit with her and eat them together, ask questions, be shown the family jewels, etc.

I love the cake pan!!!

Not trying to enter again, but I wanted to comment on your comment (about my comment). (Did you follow that?!?!

When I saw the queen's motorcade, she was on her way to Yosemite (CA) about 25 (?) years ago. We saw the group, drove a backroad and saw her again. We notice the caravan was shorter. (Minus the ambulance, for one.) When we headed back, we found out why. THere had been a HUGE fatal crash. The sheriff was patrolling one direction, and secret service the other. Both thought they had the entire road to themselves. (It was a windy mountain road.) At least 4 officers died. :( It happened at the one location that had a very short detour and the queen's motorcade was diverted. My Mom (RN) and Dad (EMT) stopped to offer assistance. (But the motorcade had a doctor and ambulance already.)

What a fun giveaway. I would serve mine to Mr. Rodgers. As a child I loved his show and I think he is pretty wise! Thanks for the chance to enter!

Jenna said...

I have to choose one of the three, hunh? I feel that the queen would probably be kind and compliment my cakes, but inside would be thinking how primitive... Mr. Rogers would be good, except isn't he no longer living? And the Pope... well, I guess I'd have to choose him, though I'm not Catholic and would hate to feel the need to convert just to serve him cupcakes... now if you had offered the Dali Lama my choice would have been much simpler! :)

Queen Lizzy! Who wouldn't want to meet a Queen? I'm thinking the Pope is a little old and Mr. Rogers was a nice guy, but I prefer female company for conversation.
