In a Slump

So I'm having a blogging slump. I'm reading other blogs, leaving the occasional comment, but I just don't have much to write about these days, other than taking up valuable space on the internets complaining about my present level of discomfort.

I should also say, that last week, I succumbed and joined the Evil Time-Sucker that is Facebook. Addictive? Yes. Fabulous? Yes, quite! I was skeptical because I didn't really understand how it functions, but now that I'm on it, it's great! I've already reconnected with six people (and counting) I haven't talked to for at least 5 or more years! But what does that mean? Does that mean I'm now obliged to communicate with them regularly? And what qualifies as regular? And how long is this phenomenon going to go on? Will we stay in touch from now until eternity? Will we still care five years from now? Will Facebook even exist five years from now? Regardless. It's been an intriguing discovery. I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Presently, it's lunchtime, or something like that. Probably time to put more laundry in the dryer.

Oh and just so you don't feel completely ripped off by this lame-o post, check out this hilarious story of Labour & Delivery I read last night.

Don't you think it doesn't matter how long facebook lasts, because for the most part, you reconnect with people, say "Hi how's it going," and do the obligatory catch-up thing, and that's pretty much it? My concern is that it will use up all the meaningless talk I would have otherwise used at school reunions.

School reunions? You mean you actually plan on GOING to those?!?! Wow, you're brave!

Speaking of school reunions, isn't it our ten year high school one this year? And yet I haven't heard a peep about an actual reunion (no surprise there...) Apparently some sort of school 50th Anniversary or something though.

Yes, there's a choir thing happening in mid-July. I guess I won't be there. Boo. But it's supposed to be huge. Even on Classmates, there's nothing about a reunion. We should check the school website. If you go, I'll be with you in spirit!

I have been feeling the same way about blogging. I am just not putting into it what I used to. I still read, but I never get the chance to comment. My own writing recently has been reduced to occasional blatherings.

I haven't done Facebook. A year ago I was hounded into getting MySpace page. It was cool for about 6 months, now I only check it when I get a new friend request.

Ugh! I recently got sucked into myspace for the same reasons. 10 year reunion isnext month. still haven't decided to go or not...probably....not. i've chatted with a few people from back in teh day, but really, we aren't going to be BFF. but for some reason i spend all my free time looking for the random girl who gave me gum during homeroom...what was her name...

Facebook! Yeah, it's dumb. I mainly use it to message my cousin, who I've been in constant email contact with for, oh, all my life.
